A baseball bat and a mean attitude can get a lot accomplished.

I often think of Sicilians whenever people say that we are a nation of immigrants and haven't had problems before. Some Sicialian immigrants brought the maffia with them, and law enforcement still hasn't gotten it under control. Other Italiam immigrants went on to be Supreme court justices and mayor of NYC, of course.

You speak of your ancestors, but I wonder if you have lived abroad. It is not easy to adapt.

But I’m not going to try to break someone’s front door just because I hear yelling inside.

If someone is yelling 'help' I would take that is an invitation to force the door and render what ever assistance is possible. So yeah, kicking in the door with .45 drawn would be SOP if it can be clearly heard that someone is in distress and violence is happening.

Do you remember the story of a neighbor who did just that? He kicked the door open and found his neighbor pleasuring himself to bondage porn.

How appropriate this guy is “RAGE”.

“Walsh said police were shocked by the behavior of the bystanders.”

Shocked? In this age of telling people to never do anything to help themselves or others, because they “might get hurt”? This age of engendering cowardice? Never mind the selfishness rampant since Dr. Spock got hold of mothers? I’m not shocked at this. But still depressed.

Thank God the United 93 people went back to the “fight” response which as a society, we’ve been killing off. Instead of dying squealing like a bunch of cowards and letting hundreds of others die, too.

This story involves two cults, one of Islam the pure cult of man as beastly slave to a hateful god that worships death to free the beast from life, and the other more pernicious to the inheritors to the American country the libs who rely on pure emotive control mechanisms like we are one giant Jonestown.

I wish someone would have helped her but there was a post here awhile back about a guy that lived with his mother who kicked a door in, carrying a sword. His neighbor was watching a movie. He caught all kinds of grief. Sometimes I guess you just can’t win.

No it did not. They ended up outside. The people walked down the hall in some cases to hear better.

A 25-year-old man was charged Thursday for allegedly raping and beating a woman in an apartment hallway — an incident apparently witnessed by as many as 10 people who did nothing.

Rage Ibrahim was charged with several counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct for the attack early Tuesday. According to the criminal complaint, police responded to a call of drunken behavior in an apartment hallway, where they found both Ibrahim and a woman lying unconscious. The woman’s clothing had been pulled up, she had fresh scratches on her face and blood on her thigh.

Ibrahim says he is innocent and that the incident was a misunderstanding, according to Omar Jamal, the executive director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center who spoke on Ibrahim’s behalf.

“I’m so upset because of the situation I’m in,” Ibrahim told the St. Paul Pioneer Press, as he headed to the county jail on Thursday to turn himself in. “I’ve got a mom, I’ve got a sister. I wouldn’t rape anyone.”

Police obtained surveillance video from the hallway, which showed the assault starting as early as 1:20 a.m. Police weren’t dispatched to the scene until almost 90 minutes later, when someone finally called to report drunken behavior in the hallway.

Police spokesman Tom Walsh said the video footage clearly showed five to 10 people, both men and women, looking out their apartment doors or starting to walk down the hallway before retreating as the assault occurred.

“It shows one person looking out of her door probably three times,” Walsh said. “It shows another person walking up, observing what’s going on, then turning and putting up the hood of his sweatshirt.”

The 26-year-old victim knocked on a door at one point, yelling for the occupants to call police. A man inside that apartment told police he didn’t open the door or look out, but said he did call police — although they have no record of his call, according to court documents.

The complaint said the video shows Ibrahim hitting the woman several times before sexually assaulting her. It said the woman was visiting the apartment of a friend, where she met Ibrahim; after drinking for several hours, she told police Ibrahim tried to stop her from leaving, and began to assault her.

Ibrahim denied to police that he tried to rape the woman, saying if he wanted to do so he would have done it in the apartment, according to the complaint.

Walsh said police were upset by the behavior of the bystanders. “It’s not what we expect of responsible citizens,” he said.

“If you’re not comfortable, if you don’t feel capable of intervening, that’s fine,” Walsh said. “But not calling is not understandable.”

Minnesota has a Good Samaritan law that makes it a petty misdemeanor not to give reasonable help to a person in danger of “grave physical harm.”

Walsh said it’s unlikely police would pursue charges against witnesses in this case because the burden of proof is so high — authorities would have to show that witnesses knew the woman was in extreme danger.

Jamal said Ibrahim went into the hallway after the woman because he thought she was too drunk to drive. They struggled over car keys, and “he is saying there was a huge misunderstanding,” Jamal said, adding that the police report does not show “the truth of what happened that night.”

“He did not rape her,” Jamal said.

My aunt’s mother lives in MN. She says it’s Somalis all because of do-gooder Christian churches bringing them over and caring for them (”sponsoring”), I guess feeling sorry for them and their plight in Somalia. She told me this 4 years ago, before I knew anything about alot of African immigrants being in the middle of “whitey” country (most immigrants are where they can reach the quickest - East Coast would be in this case), or we started hearing more news about it.

“Tape Shows at Least 10 Witnesses Ignoring Minnesota Woman’s Cries
for Help During Sexual Assault”

Bitter fruit.
Of the years of radical feminism that told me “women don’t need your help”,
so don’t patronize us (even by holding a door open).

AND

AFAIK, a state where a lady (or male) being assaulted by some bad
dude is unlikely to have at least one person step out from the crowd,
drawing a concealed weapon to end the victim’s suffering.

Yep, that’s the Minnesota I know from visiting a couple of times
while my brother got his masters degree at the St. Paul campus.

A nice place with a lot of naive liberal ideology.

Thanks. This bit:

“Police obtained surveillance video from the hallway, which showed the assault starting as early as 1:20 a.m”

wasn’t in the OP.

I myself would call police (probably after threatening them) just for all the damn noise they’re making! (Yes, I’ve done this before, including to people who were out in a parking garage in a “bad part of town” partying disturbing my sleep. It’s hard to contain my anger. ;-) )

from the article:

Poor guy.
He can't believe that the immigrant Somalis in The Twin Cities
haven't yet made Shari'a the law of the land in Minnesota.

I dread to think that a REAL liberal judge gets ahold
of this case and rules that it was "all just a cultural misunderstanding".

We all assume we have or need a gun.

We don’t. People should just butt in, even if it’s just your hands.

Guns are niceties - although they have their faults, too, such as worrying more about seriously hurting the victim than say, a baseball bat.

I saw this on the news last night. The whole apartment building is predominantly occupied by Somalis. My first thought when I heard the news: the Religion of Peace hates women. That explains why no one helped the woman, in my mind. But it is dispicable.
