I can't help but notice that a lot of those contaminated trucks are missing engines.

I guess that someone didn't think that they were too contaminated.

I can't help but notice that a lot of those contaminated trucks are missing engines.

I guess that someone didn't think that they were too contaminated.

The contamination would be on the outside of the truck bodies (and in the cabs if the windows were open.) Radioactive dust sticks to paint and rusty spots on the outside of the vehicle and is nearly impossible to get off. As long as the engines weren't running at the time and the hoods weren't open, there is a chance that the engines could be cleaned up.

But for each one, somewhere there's a mechanic that has that "special glow" from the dose he got pulling that engine. Guess they figured it was worth it.
