All that? Really? I just went to sheriff’s office, Springfield. Filled out paperwork, paid $10. Came back a week later and took paper to gun dealer. Glad we don’t have to do that anymore but it was only one trip to each.

That's why I like Florida.

Normally just a three day wait, no extra "Mother May I" from local PD (three days is bad enough)

BUT if you have a CCW (and FL is SHALL issue) then buy your gun, show your CCW and leave WITH gun!

Iowa issued a gun buy permit for $3 that was good for a year (years ago.) The price may have gone up but I think its still minimal and just as still pointless. The state is a “may issue” state, so the sheriff of your county has the last word. The gun carry permit was $5, good for one year.
