True. However, the conventional wisdom from the chattering classes that Fred Thompson’s supporters only support him because of some sort of psychological projection of their own beliefs, due to a lack of knowledge about his, is total bunk.
Fred Thompson’s base of support is coming from people who ARE familiar with his positions on issues. It is Rudy that is benefiting from the uninformed, not Fred.

The bottom line is, if you don’t support Fred Thompson, it’s just because you don’t know Fred Thompson yet. Once you do know Fred Thompson, you’ll support him, unless you’re a barking moonbat. That goes for Dems and Repubs and will become more evident after his formal declaration.
