Now that is pure hypothetical BS. History is what it is, chum. FredT has gained significant support at the expense of Rooty Toot. That is a fact. FredT made no move in running for POTUS. Not until grassroots conservatives like myself saw what choices we had.
Giuliani the liberal is totally out of the question. Romney the centrist is only marginally better than Rooty. McCain angers conservatives too much. FredT heard the calling and began testing the waters. We'll see what happens if and when he makes it official. I like his chances at this point.
So you ignored all the other TRUE conservatives who are ACTUALLY RUNNING for President and out of the blue said - “we need to get Fred Thompson!”
I highly doubt that! Until Fred Thompson’s name started to FLOAT around the media (wonder how that happened) that he is may run...there was no draft Fred Thompson movement.
Think about...Duncan Hunter ACTUALLY has a conservative record (better than Fred’s too) and is ACTUALLY running for President. HE IS OUR GRASSROOTS CONSERVATIVE but because he isn’t known by the East Coast media he gets no attention!
Why is it that no Midwest or West coast candidates are in the top 3?
Romney - Boston Big Money Guy with a liberal record (E.C. Media covers him); Rudy, Mayor of New York with liberal tendencies, (E.C. media covers him); Thompson - Famous Actor on a tv show broadcast on a major E.C. based television station (E.C. Media covers him).
CBS, NBC, ABC, FoxNews, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, NY Times, Washington Post...ALL BASED ON THE EAST COAST. They set the news agenda.
Head to Head Hunter wipes the floor with Thompson and the only reason why Hunter doesn’t get the press is he has no east coast connections and that’s why they don’t concentrate on him. He has had some great sound bites from the debates yet they never cover it afterwards.
