Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Tuesday in a Nevada television interview that he supports letting states "make their own decision" about whether to keep abortion legal.

"My view is that the Supreme Court has made an error in saying at the national level one size fits all for the whole nation," Romney told Nevada political columnist Jon Ralston in a televised interview. "Instead, I would let states make their choices."

Perhaps pro-constitution? I have always been pro-life, but I have also objected to the courts taking the issue out of the hands of the states where it properly belongs.

"Instead, I would let states make their choices."

This means he wants to get rid of Roe V. Wade. What's the problem?

I’m not a big Romney supporter (read I won’t vote for him even if he is the nominee), but there is nothing wrong with overruling Roe v. Wade, which does leave it to the states. None of the Federal Government’s business at all.

Silly comment. Mitt is right. He wants to reverse Roe vs Wade. That sends the question back to the states.

Only the disingenuous or obtuse are having difficulties. We wants Roe vs. Wade overturned. Period. He'd be in favor of a ban, but he knows that is not going to happen right now.

Romney spokesman Kevin Madden explains Romney’s position, which says that overturning Roe v. Wade and “putting the decision back in the states” is what Romney supports “in the meantime.”…

“Gov. Romney supports the Republican Party’s platform protecting the sanctity of life,” Madden told ABC News. “He believes that Roe v. Wade should be overturned so that the life issue can be returned to the Democratic process through the people and their elected representatives. Gov. Romney’s support for the Republican Party’s pro-life platform and overturning Roe v. Wade are complimentary goals and beliefs.”

This explains it:
1)Supports overturn of Roe vs. Wade
2) Supports a ban in his state
