那覇空港で中華航空機が爆発、炎上した事故で、中華航空は２１日、事故機の胴体左側面にある「ＣＨＩＮＡＡＩＲＬＩＮＥＳ」という英語の社名ロゴと垂直尾翼にある紅梅の花のマークを白いペンキで塗りつぶした。事故機の映像や写真が連日報道されるため、企業イメージの低下を避けるのが狙いとみられる。同社は事前に国土交通省航空・鉄道事故調査委員会（事故調）に了解を求め、事故調も調査には支障がないと判断して要求を受け入れた。同社はこの日の事故調などによる実況見分後に塗りつぶした。ロゴやマークを塗りつぶしたことについて、中華航空の広報担当は「国際慣例に従った。詳細はよくわからない」とだけ話した。【木下武】

The kanji are Chinese, but there is hiragana too, which would make it Japanese ;)
