There will never be another Walter Concrite who can use the free airwaves to defeat america. This President will NOT give up on a democratic, secure, free Iraq, and neither will the troops that are conducting their mission with great diligence, dignity, honor with success as their goal.

Thanks for posting the transcript, Eric Blair 2084. Excellent speech! One of the best I’ve heard in a while by President Bush. God bless him for taking on the “Vietnam” aspect, and God bless our Vietnam Vets.

I too wish President Bush would get more in direct touch with his public, it's damn frustrating to wade through the bias and pure lies that our media puts out.

A talking head from the liberal left dictated American foreign policy based on his political beliefs by using the power of perceived "unbiased news". Do we learn from that? So far the administration has done a terrible job of fighting back against the idealogical media. The President needs to make this speech over and over again until it drowns out the chatter from the left.

Two things that I vividly recall from Water Cronkite:

His exquitite mastery in guiding us through the NASA Moon Landings, and his finding just the right tone and people to explain the procedures.

His abysmal betrayal of the troops in the field by his pronouncements during and following the Tet Offensive. THAT was sedition, that I did not recognize until much later.

I put him next to Fonda, Kerry, and Carter as the most seditious people this country has ever placed in positions of power. Damn them all to hell.

That's my biggest complaint and others. It's a mystery. I sometimes think that President Bush thinks the long term strategy is so obvious that everyone will automatically get it. He takes it for granted.

He needs to deliver this speech daily until every average American understands it.
