As I told my kids and their friends, Smoking is the one thing in my life that I regret doing, but I’ll smoke until I die. I tried kicking the addiction once, for 2-1/2 years, and the depression and anxiety it sent me into forced me to start again.

I’ve (regrettably)smoked for 25 years, enjoy them, and have tried and failed several times to quit.
Cannot really say I wanted to quit, but I gave it a few shots because I know they are not one of the healthier habits.
The anti-smoke militancy I’ve seen over the last few years is a little over the top, so now I smoke out of principal because I don’t like being told where, when and how.
