A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 200,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY

Welcome to Warm Fuzzy Wednesday at the Finest. For those who start counting the days on Monday until the weekend, we're halfway there! So we're here to banish those doldrums and make you smile inside! Please feel free to post sweet graphics and/or little stories that make you feel all warm and fuzzy - or just come by and give us a smile. Only two more days 'til the weekend!

The Tipping Point

READ: Romans 12:1-8

Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God. —Romans 12:1

In his book The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell observes that struggling businesses are often turned around by one key decision. Many once-foundering companies are now thriving and successful because of a choice that became the tipping point.

Although targeted to those in business management, the principle also applies to those who are committed to advancing the cause of Christ. Sometimes we find ourselves up against a wall, struggling with a decision or situation that threatens to cripple our capacity for effective service to our King. It’s at those critical junctures that we can make a “tipping point” decision to turn things around.

The decision? Surrender your will and heart to God. James 4:7 says, “Submit to God,” and Romans 12:1 tells us, “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God.” Be willing to sacrifice your agenda for His greater purposes.

What if Noah had told God, “I don’t do boats!” What if Joseph had not forgiven his brothers and failed to protect them from the life-threatening famine? Or what if Jesus had refused to die on the cross?

Surrender is the tipping point. When we make that choice, God can use us to do great things for Him.

Lord, take my life and make it wholly Thine;
Fill my poor heart with Thy great love divine.
Take all my will, my passion, self and pride;
I now surrender, Lord—in me abide. —Orr

Surrender becomes victory when we yield to God.

Morning GeeBee,,,

I need to get hopping here. I have my prostate cancer support group tonight. Going to be a hard meeting. We are planning a trip to DC to publicize the FDA;s NOT approving one drug (Provenge) that will apparently help men w/advanced prostate cancer. There is now nothing on market & no help for these men with advanced cancer - nothing. The drug was downed by panel with several of men with conflict of interest financially . Politics shows it’s dirty face even in these life & death matters.

The down side of the meeting is that one of our youngest men (64) died last week. Peritonitis. He had advanced PC & already had chemo & radiation. Both do a bad number on the immune system & so cancer survivors are more prone to not be able to fight off other things (such as Paul’s situation). Also the former main facilitator & a VERY dear & close friend of mine is in very bad shape in ICU.. not sure he will make it this time. I spoke wtih his wife, also a long time, close friend & she is NOT optimistic.

We are a relatively small & close knit group, as are all cancer support groups. I was the spiritual/chaplain to the group before I took over a few months ago. Ideally one of the men would be doing this but the couple with ability do NOT have the health /strength to take over.

Keep me in your thoughts/prayers on this please?
