Maybe not, but they lived (and to a degree still live) in a society stratified according to thoroughly bigoted caste system. How does the skin tone of your average Untouchable compare to the skin tone of your average Brahmin?
I hope you're not implying by your post that Indians aren't racist. Racism is a common failing of every ethnicity.
rotflol.. There are Brahmins from southern India, who are even more dark skinned than black people in US... caste is not related to skin color man.

Racism is a common failing of every ethinicity? Of course it is, but racial or cast motivated killing is far less prevalent in India ever compared to Europe or US.
Well, on an average North Indians are lighter skinned than south Indians.
I dont think its because of Caste, not that I have seen people eagerly claim that (but they are of the hindu right wing types whom we avoid).
