If the amount of known gold reserves in the world were insufficient to allow it to serve as a medium of exchange and store of value, it would never have become the currency of choice by most civilizations throughout history.I suspect the money supply today is a little bigger than when Ug and Glug found a pretty yellow nugget in a nearby stream.
