LOL.
On the story, apparently hostage taking is not considered an especially serious crime in Iran. Not up there with drinking a beer, or a woman whose ankles are visible in public....

The University students are one of the political concerns of the regime. Given that this guy had “been” on the police force, maybe this is a new form of the “good cop - bad cop” scenario.

Eye-witnesses also said that the man intended to show some CDs and documents to the hostages. Al Gore, have you stopped taking your medications AGAIN?

The same thing happened to me once in Las Vegas. I was taken hostage by some people who were pretty strange but, I admit, very enthusiastic. I was held for 90 minutes and made to watch videos about time share opportunities in Florida. I was given a roast beef dinner and a clock radio and then I was released back onto the Strip.

I've often wondered how many of these suicide bombers and other jihadis have severe mental illness but are functional enough to be exploited by the imams. I'll bet it's more than a few.
The only problem with this guy is that he didn't go after Americans or Israelis. Then he'd be a national hero. It's the target that makes the difference between a nutjob and a glorious martyr.

He thought he had personal problems before he did this.
