Silverstein (owner of the WTC buildings) stated that Building 7 was a controlled demolition. He's on tape saying that it was the fire department's decision to 'pull' the building. I'd guess that's what started all this conspiracy stuff.
In demolition parlance, 'pull' refers to a controlled demolition, according to the demolition experts interviewed.
I’ve only caught part of this doc on the History channel, but so far it seems pretty good — it does show the nutters but it seems to take care to refute every one of their idiotic points, so far as I have seen. It gives good prominence to the guy from Popular Mechanics and others who have refuted the nutters.
it takes weeks to place demolitions to bring a building down not minutes...
To clear up any possible confusion, do you believe in this “controlled demolition”?
JOE DUNNE, First Deputy Police Commissioner (NYPD): "I saw people walking around on the street, and they all had the look of shock on their face. They were walking slowly, and many of them were walking into harm's way. They were walking south on Church Street. Many of these people were coming out of (WTC) 7, 5, and other surrounding buildings that had suffered collateral damage. In fact, at this point in time, those buildings were now on fire."
HARRY MEYERS, Assistant Chief of Department (FDNY): "We were all pretty much on board that tower 7 was going to fall. We just didn't know when or in which direction. Everybody forgets about 7, but that building was forty-seven stories, and that in itself would have been a very major event. We couldn't fight the fire in tower 7 because we didn't have enough water. All the water mains were down. What water we had was being supplied by the boats, through large-diameter hose. It would have been a chaotic situation, in any event, trying to get in there under those circumstances and fight that fire ..."
What pull really means here is stop firefighting efforts in a fatally damaged and totally evacuted (civilians) building.

Possibly, but when used in connection to Silverstein on the collapse of building 7 is truther BS.
He did not say pull the building...he said pull it, referring to the removal of the fire fighters as the building was a lost cause. The misquoting of Silverstein has been the basis for a great deal of conspiracy theories. He stated that he was referring to the firefighters on scene, as enough had died that day already.
