It already is war, and has been for several years. In a different time, rational civilized men would not substitute their "let's just pretend" vacuous wishes for the blatantly obvious truth...

In a different time, this would have meant war.

In a different time, circa 1965, Johnson would have denied the existence of Chinese advisors/soldiers in Vietnam.........War was not declared.

I understand your point tho, you meant when America had the cajones to get into the face of people like Hitler and Hirohito........

Let’s be clear about what you’re ok with in your analogy. Mexican agents cross our border to train illegal immigrants to kill us. Then, as you say, the Mexican army crosses our border in a raid and returns. And your response is...do nothing?

I agree...it is a good start, however, we need much, much more achievement to prove to this deflated America, we are winning...and that is what America wants.

It is obvious we cannot rely on this congress to stand their ground with our President and give America the opportunity to WIN! It is up to you to find the truth as to our progress. You cannot rely on the drive-by media. Even Fox is reluctant to support America.

Say hi to Aires when you get there......LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL”

Yup, I’d say they are headed to Tartarus.

Don’t you see though, that if we do nothing, we have lost and owe a duty to our troops to get them out of there asap. The Iranians have all but declared war on us, and we dither. The decision needs to be made now, whether we fight to win or whether we withdraw. The Iranians increase the scale of their involvement day by day by day. These two incidents are turning points for an intelligent man. Bush needs to make a decision quickly.

The truth is Bush does not want war with Iran. No matter what we hear from the pundits. We are strategically located to “take them on” but not fully prepared. The American people have to be behind war and they can’t stomach another.

You could be right. But, militarily, what a position to be in...unable to retreat...unable to go on the attack. Why leave your tent if you are a soldier?

With the masks I can’t tell if they’re raghead soldiers, or part-timers at 7-Eleven. On a serious note, it’s about time scores of them meet Allah. God Bless the United States Military!

You are right. The American populace was never put on a war footing...the idea of buisness as usual, took the urgency out of this war.

It reduced it to a catch phrase for most americans like the so called war on drugs and the populace became bored with it.

There should have been a declaration of war, it should have been demanded of congress. Because now congress would have no "cover" they would be on record.

Those of us that realize the very neccessity and inevitability of this war are few, although I think more are awakening to it.

I am glad that the administration is now starting to call out iran, I just wish it had been sooner.

"...I know Bush et al regret starting the last war..."

Really? On what do you base this "knowledge"?

Because they won’t react as one would in a time of war. Have you even read the article and my link?

With respect, Saddam Hussein started the war when he brutally invaded Kuwait. Everything - everything that has happened since began with that.

A newspaper in the UK (most especially the Guardian) does not merit status as a factual source of reliable and unbiased information on which to base an opinion, especially not one regarding the regrets of “Bush”.

I have no issue with an assertion on your part that it is your opinion that PRESIDENT Bush regrets going into Iraq, but if you are going to make declarative statements as you do, I would advise you to be more intellectually precise.

You are entitled to your own opinions, but you are not entitled to your own facts. And yes, I did peruse the article against my better judgement.
