I also read the Newsweek cover story by Sharon Begley. Her attempt to mislead is revealed by her reference to "naysayers who still reject the overwhelming evidence of climate change". The naysayers do not reject the evidence of climate change. The sound scientific evidence required for a true consensus is lacking.
Unfortunately, for this nation and the world, there are enough fools who will accept her little tryst with Al Gore from 1979 to 2005 as evidence indeed. The article is a sad commentary on how uneducated and how willing to remain uneducated Sharon Begley is. Perhaps even sadder, she is not alone.
The August 20 issue of Newsweek contained an article by Robert Samuelson, "Greenhouse Simplicities", that slammed Begley's article as "a highly contrived story". One Newsweek writer slams another. Weird.
