Hi RG....AB.

Man, I need help. But all is not lost.....I've got a whole slew of folk on my side. They are sick of the RINO's running this state....and....

Ah, I know you'll find this hard to believe about me, but somehow I got myself in the middle of some big brouhaha and I've been slugging away.

I'm having a fine time and I think I'm changing some minds.

Below just one battle in my war. Explained in more detail below.

Pat, delegates to the state convention are ELECTED by the Regional Committees and are not appointed by anyone. Why don’t you actually go to a meeting and meet some of these people you are maligning as hand picked by the party bosses. Your smoke room characters are as reliatic as the little green men living on Mars. You’re views are nothing but a compilation of your biases, rumor, and innuendo. It is obvious from your posts that you have never taken the time to get off your rear end and gather the facts by actually attending a meeting and getting to know people. Talk to Dave, Matt, and Brud at your next meeting in Georgetown. Rather than curse the darkness why don’t you light one candle?

So okay, this was written on a Blog ran by the Sussex county Chairman of the RNC. He's a nice guy but his thinking's all screwed up.

The error of the above commenter's post was that, in fact, I have been VERY involved in First State Republican politics in that...I got two BIG businesses to put an ad in the annual RNC banquet booklet....two big businesses that they'd never have without me and they are HUGE businesses. Remember I told you folk I am a consultant and work for a lot of businesses down this way.

I also contributed a basket of my books to that banquet for their chinese auction, manned the front desk all night and even went around the floor selling chinese auction tickets.

I attended the monthly RNC meetings for the prior three months and go with me, I was right in the middle slapping these RINOs. I also talked to those folks he references above.

ALSO, I worked the Delaware State Fair for the RNC and had a blast. I saw Beau Biden...Joe's son....and was right across from Joe's booth.

My "crime" was (and reason for the above response) that I called this method of picking Republican candidates in Delaware a joke. See, here in Delaware, we don't have a primary. what we have is a bunch of delegates appointed by...well the commenter explains it. It's no matter. My argument is that anytime someone is "appointed" to be a delegate, they are beholden to vote for whom the appointer wants. In the past eight years, the Repubbie party in Delaware has had the worst candidates for governor and senator you can possibly imagine. There were some people who came forth wanting to run but no, they weren't good enough. Not that the ones THEY wanted were any better. One guy running for senator for the RNC got only 20% of the vote and was BEATEN BY AN INDEPENDENT!

So the base of the RNC here in Delaware is up in arms. And don't I go pointing out that this delegate system is not so good; that maybe the RNC members should be allowed to select.

Well these "delegates" got all up in arms and insulted, insisting that who they choose to be the nominee is their own choice; that they are not influenced by the party bigwigs in any way.

Yeah right.

See this attack on me is how political elites do. Us people of more common descent tend to look skeptical at appointed minions being independent, silly us. The solution is to attack she who attacks the status quo.

This guy had some pre-conceived notion that I must be some Sussex county skank who knows nothing like the royal "HE" understands. I told him, at times it is best to keep one's mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

Well the thread continued on and as it turns out, there are quite a few Delaware pubbies who are sick of this system.

They're not going to get me down. I can write, I can talk and hey, I know a damn thing or two.

HEh.
