NEW YORK (AP) - "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," whose phony news coverage has long included phony "remotes" from war-torn Iraq , will be reporting from Iraq for real next week.
Giving its green screen a temporary rest, the Comedy Central series will air "Operation Silent Thunder: `The Daily Show' in Iraq," several onsite dispatches filed by Senior War Correspondent Rob Riggle.
Riggle will provide what the network calls "in-depth coverage and insights from the front lines." Scheduled to be back in New York this weekend, he begins his reports as soon as Monday. ("The Daily Show" airs Monday through Thursday at 11 p.m. EDT.)
While in Iraq, Riggle performed for U.S. troops with fellow comedians Horatio Sanz, Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer as part of an entertainment tour titled "Operation Feel the Heat."

They definitely push the envelope. Never know when TDS actually airs, however.
Despite the initial cynical flavor of this stunt, it’s still good to see entertainers willing to perform for our Best.
From deep deep within the green zone. :p

“He is also a United States Marine Corps officer. He served in Liberia, Kosovo and Afghanistan. He has over 19 medals and ribbons as a result of his service, to include the Combat Action Ribbon. He is currently a Major in the Marine Corps Reserves. (Ask him about a lesson he learned called... “Always read the fine print!”)
I watch TDS sometimes but didn’t know he is a Marine!

Just not that big a fan of Rob Riggle. Now John Oliver OTOH is always hilarious. Will still be good to see this next week. On Comedy Central at 11pm
The only Comedy Central show I watch is “South Park”. Does TDS always follow SP on Saturdays?
I find the “reporters” on The Daily Show funny. The rest is crap.
I hope some on the Left don't read that. They might be crushed to find out TDS is fictional.
I went to their site to find out, but they’re running specials tonight so no SP or TDS.
No, TDS is only on Monday through Thursday. However if you don’t want to stay up until 11, the previous night’s show airs Monday through Friday at 8
This is one of them!
I must apologize to my ping list, as I am away from home and personal CPU taking care of a sick friend and not able to do this list but from my old faulty, senile memory.
Well, shortly I shall be watching my Cowboys saddle and spur some Broncos from Denver...
Millee, it is the Cowboys I root for, right????
Why not send that obnoxious walking smirk, Stewart himself? Then, here's hoping that ...
I'll let others fill in the blanks of my highly inappropriate and uncharitable wishes.
What is this, some kind of a joke?
Suprisingly The Daily Show is on Armed forces Network.
Fanservice maybe?
