I thought SCOTUS ruled on this a long time ago...and cops lost that one.

Now I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to find it...

Bill O’Reilly labeled the judge a "pinhead,"

More riveting in depth analysis from the former host of "Inside Edition."

It seems that during one nasty campaign event during Spiro Agnews running for V.P.,
A youth flipped off old Spiro had the wag arrested by a secret service cop.
Youth pursued cast to supreme court. Ruled free speach.

Mobile is getting more and more like New Orleans. The last couple of years several runners from this area that compete in 5 and 10K runs in Mobile have been mugged when they return to their cars by diverse individuals. For that reason, many here that compete have eliminated the Mobile runs from their schedule. The runners also state that the police are not helpful at all when they get mugged there.

“The judge, in making the award, wrote that legal precedent holds that police officers should have a “thicker skin” than someone in the general public when it comes to disrespect and insults”

Purely anecdotal but in my experience they used to be much thicker skinned than now. However a cop can never let ride any challenge to his authority. Sad that many don’t seem to know the difference today.

SOMEONE HELP ME OUT HERE.

I'm in agreement with the Judge on this one. Forgive my ignorance, but, is it against the law to "flip off" someone; not just a cop but anyone? I'm asking because I really don't know. I would think not. If not, then why was he arrested; just because the guy was a cop?
