This means we'll all have to take dramatic action in order to preserve our freedom if we perceive someone is "offended" by our free speech.
Lock and load...

HATE CRIMES = THOUGHT CONTROL It really is that simple
We got here because of this previous equation that we allowed to happen
POLITICAL CORRECTNESS = THOUGHT CONTROL

Notice that it doesn’t protect Mohammedans - and they are not protected. So, we are “free” to hate them as much as we want.

You could purchase a copier from Texas, have it shipped to your office in Illinois and print flyers on it about your aversion to homosexuality. Off to jail you go, (So it seems). Is this an obscure possibility? You don't even have to get that complicated. Congress can "find" that hate crimes "substantially effect interstate commerce" just because it's "victims" are now too traumatized to engage in commerce.

It really is that simple<
I don’t get the connection. If the Hate Crimes bill PROTECTS the abuser - oh, do you mean we will be prosecuted for being against anything that is decadent and unnatural? Because that is what passing the Hate Crimes bill will mean. Seems unnaturally convoluted to me!

I whole heartedly agree with that sentiment. I don’t believe its possible under ANY scenario to commit a “hate crime”. The act is either a crime or it isn’t. PERIOD.

This is certainly an Orwellian “thought crimes” bill — but it does not contain ANY of the specific perversions listed in one of the comments. The bill is bad enough, no one needs to lie about what is actually in it — that just gives the other side ammunition against us. Check out S. 1105 for yourself at www.loc.gov, by clicking on the “THOMAS” link and typing in the bill number.

Those perversions are not listed in either S. 1105 or H.R. 1592. See www.loc.gov, click on the THOMAS link and type in the bill number....

In regard to the Roberts' story, although an apology was given by the Wyre Borough Council, the wording of the council's statement is disturbing and points to the social unhealthiness of this community:
"The council is committed to a policy of tolerance and equal treatment for all - including those holding strong religious views."
So now, those with "strong religious views" are the outsiders to be tolerated, not two men who want to treat each other's anuses as vaginas and then have the government by force of law call it "normal," notwithstanding all sound scientific findings to the contrary. Who would have thought this could ever be the case?
And as England goes, so goes the U.S.
