We started about six months ago making it a local policy that the police don’t do ‘cite and release’ on people whose identity can’t be confirmed. Instead, they’re grabbed, hauled to HQ, and the ICE officer does a fingerprint screen and figures out who they really are. There’s an amazing number of these dudes who turn out to have a warrant from the next town over under a different name.
With a six-pack on the seat next to him along the way.
that’s a good point...if they know they did something wrong under one alias just move on to the next one
