When asked about it, he responded this was a time to answer the question. That's not opposition to the complaint at all.
Interestingly the complaintants consisted of 1 registered Democrat, 2 registered independents, and 2 nonvoters. An indication of where his support lies. Not the Republican party.
More important, when asked about his plans for cabinet appointments he answered, honestly, he hadn't thought much about it but would probably do a bad job. Then he noted he had a lot of friends.
His friends and the nature of his supporters become an important issue since they will be the reservois of his administration.
HE: Follow-up -- thank you -- follow-up question. [Laughter] Take two minutes and tell me the people that you would name to your cabinet or to your official family.RP: Probably,> I wont do a very good job of that because I havent thought that through and there are certainly a lot of friends and
HE: Well, before you name the cabinet people, what cabinet departments would you want to have remain?
RP: Well I guess we could have a Justice Department. I guess we could have a State Department, and I guess we could have a Defense Department, and maybe one or two others more but not many more than that. I mean We need to think about a Republican form of government. I believe in a republic -- little R republic -- and we dont need a Department of Education and a Department of Energy. We used to win elections on that but not any more. We doubled the size of all those programs.
Yow.
With all the crazy accusations you throw at Ron Paul...well, I would call this the stupidest, but I kind of doubt that's true, since you've pulled off so many doozies. It's obvious from the context of the question and the answer that he was saying he wouldn't do a a very good job of coming up with an answer in two minutes.

I'm amazed that Paul is proposing a radical change in the way goverment in this country is structured, yet he has no specific plans in mind. In fact, he seems confused and unprepared. Yet there are people who support this poor addled man for the president of the United States of America. What on earth are they thinking?
