there’s a frenzied Hollywood bidding war going on today over the No. 1 book on The New York Times non-fiction bestseller list: Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes Of SEAL Team 10 by Marcus Luttrell.
I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for the movie.
1 The Studio’s are always buying the rights to a book, this is just the 1st step in making a movie, and often (more often than not) it’s just a way to keep some other studio from making a movie.
2 Assuming (and you know what happens when you Assume) the book get’s made into a movie it’ll be a couple years before it’s released.
3 Always remember The Book is the Book...the Movie is the Movie, and the two are not necessarily the same. See any of the Tom Clancy movies, or LOTR’s for proof.
Still the book is WONDERFUL. I couldn’t put it down.
So when is Atlas Shrugged getting done? They have been trying for 50+ years
Knowing Hollywood, they'll probably put something like this out:
PO2 (SEAL) Shane Patton (RIP), PO2 (SEAL) Matt Axelson (RIP), PO2 (SEAL) James Such (RIP), PO (SEAL) Marcus Luttrell.
