That is something I think he is definitely very parochial about. And dangerously so.
I think it comes from his early years in broadcasting as well as his Roman Catholicism . . . AUTHORITY is right.
. . . is not always correct.
I’ve not come up with a strategy or logic to persuade him otherwise. But I think it’s worth some prayerful pondering.
Perhaps attacking it from the culture war standpoint might help him see the light.
Oreilly used Kristinn to castigate FR. He did so, according to some, to give the appearance of being “balanced.” I disagree with this assessment. I believe he did so because he has some sick perverted vendetta against FR. BOR has been exposed many times here as a blow hard hooligan. Perhaps that is what got his angst in a wad. Many recognize him for what he is, an entertainer making lots of money. (Nothing wrong with that...sadly many don’t realize it’s just entertainment...they perceive it as gospel.)
Every freeper who has been here anytime at all knows without shadow of doubt that FR does not allow hate filled posts. (Well, except the ones regarding the people we are currently engaging in world war...I find myself guilty as charged.) Oreilly used FR as a tool to boost his ratings and his email. His numbers no doubt spiked. Postive or negative is not a factor for the so called “factor.” It’s a numbers game he plays well. And he doesn’t care who gets caught in his crossfire so long as he produces the numbers. Nor does his boss.
The truth? Numbers have nothing to do with the truth.
