Newsflash regarding O’reilly, he presents himself as a “know it all,” when actually he’s just making a living pretending to be something he is not. That’s what good actors do. :)
When it comes to audience and stats, I’d wager BOR demands a lot of money from his boss. There’s nothing wrong with that. Entertainers are normally well overpaid.

I’m not as hard on him as you seem to be.
But I don’t swallow him hook, line and sinker either.
I think one hazard is he’s more destructively proud than he thinks he is.

Well put. I’d add my own suspicion that he is only on the air to give conservatives (in the form of alleged conservatives) a bad name with his behavior.
