You nailed it, is not just DU, KOS, Liberals or Democrats. I am relatively new to FR and I expected something akin to the Montana Freemen when I first got here, lol. This is by far the tamest site I have ever been on and to call it a hate site is just moronic. I expected there would be more candidates wanting to talk to us but have only seen Duncan Hunter so far. I wonder if the others are ashamed of FR, want to avoid being associated with it, or if there is another reason?
It doesn’t strike me as much different than gay-rights activists calling Christians who preach homosexuality as immoral as “haters”. One way to marginalize someone (read: KEEP PEOPLE FROM LISTENING TO THEM) is to label them haters.
The reason we are all here is that there is a common thread that makes us “conservative”, in our own particular personal flavor. Speaking for myself, if there is ONE thing I want to see in my lifetime, it’s to see Socialism so utterly discredited that people who preach it, whether openly or indirectly, are viewed with the same contempt as the most ruthless totalitarian Nazi. Now, having said this, I’m sure some latte-sipping leftist will brand me a HATER in 5...4...3...2...
All I can say is, to the leftists out there, hit me with your best shot. When the leftists want to try to bring Socialism about in the world, I’ll be right there standing in their way—and they can call me whatever the heck they want.
The media have given the conservatives in the race as short a shrift as possible, promoting liberals as the frontrunners early on, and really trying to stuff Rudy, et. al. down our throats.
Now they are trying to spin them as conservatives.

If they can successfully brand us as a "hate" site, then any support we can muster for conservatives will be marginalized.
I do not see this letting up any time soon, and if they can get the perception out there that we are what they say, all the back page retractions in the world will not undo the damage they can do with headlines.
This is a war of idealogies, and I have little doubt our distaste for lawbreakers of any ilk, abortion, and having buggerers and other deviants teaching their kinks to kids has made us a few enemies out there.
After all, hating some things (evil, lawlessness, murder, mayhem, waste, perversion, and stupidity) is a virtue. Hating people is not.
