The word “hate” has not been used in our home. Here, it’s considered a 4-letter word. We’ve taught our children to use other words and phrases, like “I can’t stand that” or “I don’t like that.” “Hate” truly is a strong word; an ugly word.

I agree, and the same was true in my home. Hate is a viscous word. Shut-up was another no no.
