Battered Liberal Syndrome

RUSH: Those of you liberals out there, I know you're out there, and I know you're battered. You are constantly upset. You're angry. The people you've been voting for, when they win, the problems don't go away. You don't have health insurance; you don't have this; you don't have that; destroying the planet, da-da-da. It's just miserable out there. Yet you keep voting for the same people and you end up being miserable. The cycle repeats. It's like Battered Wife Syndrome. This is Battered Liberal Syndrome. You get sweet talked, and then you get clobbered again. Then they sweet talk you again, and they come on to you, and they assure you it's going to be okay, and then you get clobbered again. How much verbal abuse are you liberals going to continue to take? Not from me, but from your own elected officials? How much psychological abuse do you think you've suffered? And why do you continue to take it? When will you finally say, "Enough. I'm through being a battered liberal?" How long will you accept the unacceptable? How long will you tolerate the intolerable?
Well, I know it's not that easy. Change is always hard, because change is new. I know it's not that easy. A lot of people develop a personality trait where they just like being battered, if for no other reason than they get some attention. But Battered Liberal Syndrome is a serious problem, and it has been for three-quarters of a century. It's a deep, dark secret, Battered Liberal Syndrome, where shame trumps the necessary cry for help. Battered Liberal Syndrome, accepting the promises on Election Day, and then neglect until the next election cycle, where the promises come again, and the promises are unmet. Promises on Election Day, broken promises, sadness and neglect until the next election. But there's hope, ladies and gentlemen. I intend to try to help those of you who are battered liberals. Battered Liberal Syndrome can be cured. You can break the cycle. And don't worry, the batterers are not listening. What do we know about Battered Liberal Syndrome? First, we know that it's hereditary. It's passed on from generation to generation. If your parents were battered liberals, it's good enough for you. And if your parents were battered liberals, it's what you grew up understanding; it's what you grew up being; and if it's good enough for your parents, why, it's good enough for you.
Second, it's regional. Battered liberal disorder doesn't start in blue states. It starts in blue neighborhoods; it starts in blue apartment houses; it starts at blue cocktail parties; it starts at blue elementary schools. Battered Liberal Syndrome is not only tolerated, what's even more hideous about it is that it's enabled. But there is hope. There is a virtual sanctuary, a safe house, if you will, where battered liberals can begin to make the commitment to change and get out of this abusive cycle that they've been in all of their lives, that you have been in all of your life. This safe house, this refuge, this virtual sanctuary is the Rush Limbaugh program, a virtual sanctuary Rush 24/7, and then there is my website, which is Rush 24/7. This is a time-tested and proven solution that works. Many battered liberals have seen the light and have escaped the bondage of being battered by liberals. These four steps, they are challenging, they are worth it, if you have the courage to change.
Number one is awareness. Number two is sanctuary. Number three is healing. And number four is empowerment. It starts with awareness. If you don't accept that you are battered, how can you escape the battery? You have to admit you are a battered liberal. Do you ask yourself why you are so angry all the time? Do you ask yourself why you are so enraged all the time? Do you ask yourself why you are not happy? Do you ask yourself why you don't want to be happy? Do you ask yourself why you want others around you to also be as miserable as you are? Do you ever ask yourself why is it you despise the greatest country in the history of human civilization? Until you begin to ask these questions of yourself and answer them honestly, you will not complete step one, which is awareness.
Number two, sanctuary. You need a place to go, a refuge where you can be assured that you will not be battered by liberals. You need to get out of the cycle. You need to take yourself out of the circumstances that lead to your being battered, not just a three-hour session each day. Imagine the feeling you will have when you break out; the lights that will go on inside your head; the freedom that you will feel. You will actually be on the road to enjoying the one life God gave you. It can happen to you. It has happened to many battered liberals who have escaped the bondage. There's no couch, by the way. We don't do any Rorschach tests; no inkblots; no Scientology; no acupuncture. You just have to listen.
And then there is empowerment. You have to say in this fourth step that you will not be battered any longer. You have to commit that you are going to think more of yourself than to allow yourself to be battered, lied to, and made to feel miserable all day, every day. You can say to yourself finally, "I don't need those broken promises to get through the day. I don't need those broken promises to get through the week, or a lifetime. I control my future! I'm going to stop depending on people who lie to me and don't care really about anything I do except my vote!" And best of all, my friends, to cure Battered Liberal Syndrome, you don't need health insurance; you don't need to go to the doctor; you don't need Medicare; you don't need Medicaid which, by the way, are two great examples of broken promises. You don't need health insurance. You don't need anybody or anything from the government, which is full of broken promises from the batterers. All you need is the lifeline. But this will add to your audience, and you'll charge even more in advertising rates. I see through this whole thing. I'm actually more miserable now than when you started to help me. Mort in Keokuk."

CALLER: Yeah. Rush?
RUSH: Yeah?
CALLER: What a fantastic, fantastic primer course you gave on this liberal sociopathological condition.
RUSH: The Battered Liberal Syndrome?
CALLER: You understand. You discussed the onset, the course, the treatment, uh, but the nature of the beast is this. Just a few words, Rush.
RUSH: All right.
CALLER: It exists in mild, moderate, and severe degree. If it's severe, it's terminal. These people are lost forever. It's kind of like it affects the brain. You might call it a psychosclerosis, uh, and what you have to do including in your steps is one vital thing in this is like your message, and that is that the truth will set them free in treatment. The truth will set 'em free.
RUSH: You know, I didn't mention that because I assumed it. You know, what happens here is the truth.
CALLER: Well, yeah, but if you're a liberal, how do they know it? (chuckles) Now, finally, they have to give up the top of the toxic liberal atmosphere that they're living in. It's a bubble. It's just like a drug addict has to give up his buddies who use drugs.
RUSH: That's right. The awareness factor: You've got to admit this, and you've gotta get out.
CALLER: You betcha, and it's not easy, once you're hooked. They listen to the same old, stale line day after day after day, and they never catch on.
RUSH: Well, that's what leads to being battered, because it leads to being miserable, the promises, all of the assurances that things are going to get better and they never do.
CALLER: Yah. Yah. Yah.
RUSH: Their lives never change.
CALLER: Yah.
RUSH: They're always miserable and unhappy.
CALLER: But, you see, their hatred is what gives their life direction, and without that anger, where would they go?
RUSH: Well, that's the challenge. That's the challenge. It's to get them to assuage the anger and get rid of it, and the greatest way to get rid of anger is simply turn to doing something productive.
CALLER: You got it. Just concentrate your efforts on those that suffer from this in mild-to-moderate degrees. You'll get a larger percentage of successes.
RUSH: But the severe, they're hopeless?
CALLER: You know, you should get an honorary degree in treatment of people who are disturbed.
RUSH: (Laughing.) Are you an expert?
CALLER: Oh, yes, yes! I'm retired after about 30 or 35 years of treating people.
RUSH: In psychology, psychiatry?
CALLER: Psychology.
RUSH: Psychology. Wow. Well, you've made my day here.
CALLER: Ha. Well, listen. Periodically I have a few gems I'd like to share with you but it's awfully hard to get to you.
RUSH: Well, I know, but you gotta keep trying. The odds are that you'll get through more often than not.
CALLER: All right. You're a good man.
RUSH: Thank you very much, doctor. I appreciate it.
CALLER: You take care now.

The bad thing about my doorless Jeep Wranglers is that when I heard this segment today, I almost fell out LMAO while driving.
There is a reason that he is number 1.
The only time I hear about things changing for the better for a liberal are the ones who finally start doing things for themselves.

None of the radio stations in Buffalo seem to play him.
There are lots of stations around that stream him live for free. And if worse comes to worst, for $50 a year, you can join 24/7 and listen anytime you want. I find it to be worth every penny and more and I get great use out of it.

Too bad so many Liberals are medicated on alcohol, drugs legal or illegal or any number of things to have to actually listen to the Still Small Voice.

I didn't do anything. Rush has mentioned this subject for the past few days. Once he started on the monologue, I was glued. He didn't miss a beat. TOTAL entertainment.
I usually listen at work with wireless headsets. My test - laughing out loud in front of people who don't have a clue of what's going on. This one had my coworkers completely stumped.
Didja hear the updated Elvis tune - 'In A Hybrid'? Rush really shouldn't play these things while fans have food in their mouths. Maybe the only thing worse - eating with the radio on while driving a doorless Jeep. I can't imagine...

As usual, Rush is right about this. It is not so easy for someone to renounce his liberal social support structures, such as liberal friends, the MSM, liberal-oriented entertainment, and so on. There is an uncomfortable period during which one has to work at replacing liberal supports with conservative supports. After a while, the new set of viewpoints coalesces, simplifies, and strengthens, but until then a refuge from the relentless liberal onslaught can be very helpful.
