I share your sense of pessimism.

The phrase “general welfare” can be used to promulgate any number of well intentioned obscenites upon a supine populace and it’s totemic power as an all encompassing mantra is becoming blindingly obvious.

Essentially, we Americans seem to have given up on the very principles of our founding. Don’t tread on me and we’ll leave each other alone.

Symptomatic is how science was perverted to push through smoking bans based on the potential damage to bar employees from SHS. Reading the mechanics of the WHO and other studies used to justify this makes clear that SHS was never the threat it was touted to be.

You put a lab rat in a breadbox and feed him smoke from 200 cigs per day and you’re bound to get the results you want.

While many celebrate the draconian bans, we are already seeing the effects of science being misapplied and misinterpreted for sociological goals in the craziness of some of the global warming hysteria.

How’re you gonna argue against it now?
