Yikes, you are sounding like a Liberal or even a Communist!

Public roads are paid for by the public, therefore the public has the right to spell out the rules for their use (via our elected officials).

Again, I would argue that you should be allowed to do what you want on YOUR OWN PRIVATE PROPERTY, but when it comes to public roads that I help pay for I want a say in how they're used. That's the way our society works and it's not communism.

Public roads are paid for by the public..

Those roads were paid for by the drunk drivers also. They paid for those roads, and if they want to drive on them, they they have every right!

Public property: Owned by all citizens!

If anything, if you include thier legal fines, they paid MUCH MORE for those roads than you ever did.
