Some still don't get it. We have some members of the American Taliban right here on FR. They get used and abused by the left when it suits their socialist progressive agenda. Once they are done... they laugh at them.
You are making the argument that a government that has the power to do a resonable action X may also do Y, where Y is similar to X but is an unreasonable action.
This isn't about what a city or state government has the power to do and this is hardly the time or place to pitch your battle. Hell - they OWN 1/3+ of your working life through taxes. And you're going to get your panties in a wad over the government preventing people from poisoning their kids with carcinagins?
BTW - the government also takes children away from heroin addicted parents. DID YOU KNOW this means they can also take children away from parents who pray?
It’s never a matter of degree, this sort of argument is only used to shock the subservient back to some form of reasonable thought.
There are so few places on this planet where the naked ape can survive without either protective care or garment or constructed shelter that, once man’s tribe grew large enough to crowd the rest of his kind that it became either necessary for the older and more tenured members to displace the surplus or for the surplus to reduce the total.
When the numbers still could not be made to stabilize, then those excess members became the displaced in terms of geography and began to wander, some surviving and some not.
Yet grow they must and through the generations the jealousy grew apace until now we have become so sophisticated that we feel the need not only to revert to the classic forced reduction of our numbers but invent ways to brag about how good it is and how much better off those once-crowded people are now that they each have their own little 3X6 garden plot for eternity.
