This line is my favorite:

Until we provide better services and real homes for them

So... not only am I responsible for my own mortgage, home repairs, property taxes, etc -- I've got to shell out a real home for someone else too? My fridge came in a real nice cardboard box... they can have that.

Wow... and I don't even get cocktails and a nice dinner beforehand... (actually, I'd settle for a lite beer in a paper bag and Red Lobster...)

I found myself in need of a large box about the size of a 30 cu.ft. refrigerator carton and went to the local appliance store to ask if I could get one before they got tossed in the dumpster.

I was told that they cut them up before delivery, throw away the pieces just to keep from being blamed for making the homeless(bums) problems worse.

And notice the qualifiers for both... we provide services, but they must now be better. We might give them homes (as has been tried numerous times in the past with uniformly poor results), but they must be "real" homes. Anything less than a cable modem, central air, DVDRs, 1200 square feet, and a 32" flat panel is unacceptable.
