Yikes, there are a lot of men out there at his age who look much younger. Party hardy and look like death warmed over at 64. Sad.
Heck Frank Gifford turns 77 today and he looks better.
Striking contrast with Paul McCartney who probably if anything partied even harder than Namath and who looks great at 64 (”when I’m 64!”). Must be the vegetarian diet.
- When Joe was in his prime, he was the original, “wild and crazy guy.”
Who can say we didn’t envy his football abilities, his devil may care attitude and his many sexual escapades, which he seemed to treat like a big joke?
But you are right. It looks like a life of burning the candle at both ends has caught up to him and it shows in his face. After ending his football career, he tried many other lines of endeavor but never seemed to be able to make a mark. It wouldn’t surprise me to learn that his major source of income now is his football pension.
Compare that to Wayne Gretsky who invested wisely throughout his playing days, has a stable marriage and is now a multi millionaire.
Oh come on.
There are a lot who look worse at 20! He don’t look so bad.
Bill Maher once said, in answer to critics of Sammy Davis Jr., “give me 64 of Sammy’s years to 90 of the average puritan”.
I’m just saying...he don’t look so bad.
