I understand that “Allah” is just Arabic for “God” ... but why would I pray in Arabic? I don’t speak Arabic, and generally I prefer to understand myself when I pray.
Also - considering the geopolitical implications of all Christians now substituting the word “allah” for “God” in their prayers ... I’d rather (1) not get hassled by Homeland Security in an airport if I decide to pray that my plane doesn’t crash, and (2) not allow a victory, even if hollow, to those who have been trying to convert us “infidels” to allah-worship by detonating themselves near civilians.

Allah is just Arabic for God ..Nope The Qur’an says that Ilah is the Arabic word for God and that Allah is his name. Qur’an 3:62 There is no Ilah (God) except Allah. Qur’an 52:43 Have they an ilah (god) other than Allah?
