Actually a small nuke would not destroy all that much of a city, relatively speaking, the contaminated areas could be much bigger based on bomb size and location/height of the blast.
The ensuing panic would be by the people running around right now with their head up their fourth point of contact.

When said attack comes, you and your family are on your own. Period. My friend stressed that our government wont be there to help us. It is broken beyond repair and incapable of assisting those most affected by the blast. BUT GOD.....

” Our government and media are failing us. Prepare for the worst. “
Doesn’t just apply to a nuc blast - or even terrorist action...
Anyone who is counting on Gummint to save us from any catastrophic event - from attack to natural disaster to economic collapse - is living in a dreamland.....

I’ll buy the inevitable nuclear/biological attack. But the panic and financial crash? Violence of neighbor-on-neighbor outside the affected area? No government services for months? Baloney.

our government wont be there to help us. It is broken beyond repair and incapable of assisting those most affected by the blast. He talked of critical infrastructures like water, electricity, fuel, banks, our food supply, medical services, police and firefighters, being unavailable for weeks or months. He warned of the blind panic that would follow such an explosion. Of the looting, of neighbor turning on neighbor to take what they dont have for their own survival. Of our economy suffering an economic loss in the trillions of dollars. The only part of this that is right is the trillions of dollars part.
Rescuers were all over Hiroshima and Nagasaki in hours, not days. And these terrorists would be unbelieveably lucky to engineer a 12-18 kT explosion - 0.5-1.0 kT is much more like it.
Why wouldn't we do better than the war-scarred Japanese?
Of course we would.

The only valid point here is this:
Our gov’t, at all levels (fed, state, local) have abdicated their primary responsibilities.
Borders are uncontrolled, invaders allowed to walk our cities.
Convicted criminals are turned back onto the streets via weak sentencing.
Drug users never held responsible for accidents, lost productivity or health care cost.
Infrastructure (air, roads, rail) incapable of handling the growth in population.
Infrastructure (air, roads, rail) not maintained properly.
Social services abused by the in-eligible and mismanaged.
Billions of dollars lost by gov’t agencies.
Law enforcement officers that are untrained, incompetent and neutered.
Need I go on?

What’s to know? That it will happen and that political correctness is the cause.
Afterwards there will be a lot of panic, unending discussion, and blaming the wrong people. I can guarantee you that the people who should be deported will not be deported, but that instead they will wail and moan and get additional privileges!

Yeah, I’m sure they are going to nuke my little town. It’s one thing to have a “nuke”. It’s another to have one that works and it’s another to be able to light it off.

The one place I’d be in an attack, is DC. Do you think our precious officials are taking any chances?
I have kids up there. They are safer there than where I live which is next door to the biggest naval base in the world.

Somehow, by hook or by crook, and with everything else going on at the time, the government - federal, state, and local - will manage to find the personnel and the time to make house-to-house searches for lawfully-owned firearms. Bet the farm on it.
