1) go to xerobank.com
2) download free browser modified to use tor
3) install onto memory stick
4) PROFIT

This could get you in trouble if you get caught, though, depending on company policy, so be careful!

please post what you see when you try to connect...
i.e. the error message you see instead of the FR page.

Do you work for the gubmint?
Does your company use Websense for filtering? If not, which company does your empoloyer use?

We want to help....

It has nothing to do with surfing. I can access almost anything else but FR was recently restricted.

Has it been banned by your IT Dept? Ours has a banned list for specific websites. You might want to send a message to them asking if it has been banned and why. Get ready for something like this response.... “These are work computers they are not meant for personal use.”

Maybe it's just me, but I'd suggest you just let it be.

See if you can access Democratic Underground.  If you can, ask your admin to lift the block on FR out of fairness.

Otherwise, don't access FR from work.

Unless you are a cop or an auditor who actually needs access to everything to evaluate public information (before getting a warrant if you're a cop), and your company doesn't want you to surf, don't.

Now, if you're a cop or an auditor and doing your job requires you to have full access to the internet, and someone above you has limited access to FR or any other source, blow the whistle on them (quietly, through channels).

This is all you need. Use it and enjoy FR at work, just a bit slower, but better than not.

The third “access blocked” posting in 48 hours, something is a foot. Or at hand.

Thought you’d want to know.

bubman, yuo fly the Canadian flag on your profile page, are you in Canada while being denied access to FR? If so it’s probably as web filtering company your employer contracts with.

There are a huge number of web proxy sites that will let you bypass most filters. Example: vroxi.com .

Try DU, if it comes up then you have a reasonable cause to check with the company. If not, then assume political blogs are banned and let it rest.
