Pinging the list.
Yeah, but who is winning the war. I need to know before shelling out cash for a blue ray or HDDVD player.
Love my Sony Blu-Ray player and HD-TV...there, really, really, really, is a difference!
The PS3 gambit worked, as I’m guessing most people expected it to.
For $499, it’s an excellent machine for everything but gaming. Go figure.
Hybrid players are eventually going to be the norm, in my opinion. LG’s hybrid is already on the market and Samsung has released the details of their hybrid player which should be available by Christmas.
Actually, it's a pretty good machine for gaming. It upscales those PS2 games really nicely. Or, were you talking about actual PS3 games?
Well so far machines that play Blu-Ray and HDDVD are very expensive. It seems Sony never learns...
I think the gaming is excellent too. I use it more for games than my xBox 360. Rented GhostRider from Netflix in blu ray. Watching it tonight. I dumped Blockbuster for Netflix because of blu ray availability.
Yeah, actual PS3 games. I never owned a PS2, so I've bought some of the classics and been having a blast.
But I've played through about 20 demos for the PS3, and most of them are garbage or Xbox remakes.
I priced a hybrid at Best Buy recently. It was around $1000.I won't even consider a player that's anywhere near that price.I'm more than satisfied with the PQ of my current setup....a progressive scan DVD player and a Sony 34XBR960.Unless and until the prices of the players and the discs get real close to the current price of standard players and discs you can count me out.
Why would you want HD porn? You really interested in seeing those breast implant scars?
Ummm. Does this have to do with some new scientific miracle cure for some disease?
Disregard last post. I figured it out... Game toys.
Too late, in Japan it is a done deal: http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,135222/article.html
Ummm. Does this have to do with some new scientific miracle cure for some disease? ...
*******
No, but if you download Folding@home from the Sony store you CAN help cure disease on the PS3.
Just remember to enter your FReep name and change the team to # 32160. Yes, you will make a difference!

If I recall correctly, the first up-converting DVD players were between $700 and $800. The Toshiba HD DVD player has dropped almost 50% in the last few months. I’m hopeful the hybrid players will start dropping at the same rate soon.
