This is the correct result. I think once the issue was put plainly to them (by the protestors earlier this week) the KC had no choice but to do this.

It is long past time to put a stop to politicians using the Catholic Church and its organizations to pass themselves off as Catholic in order to get votes -- when they don't believe in the most basic tenets of the Church and vote against them at every opportunity.

It's false advertising of the worst kind and creates a scandal in the Church.

This has actually been the long-standing policy of the Order.

From the article:

we reaffirm our long-standing policy [emphasis added] of not inviting to any Knights of Columbus event, persons, especially public officials or candidates for public office, who do not support the legal protection of unborn children, or who advocate for the legalization of assisted suicide or euthanasia.”
