Exactly. The punishment is imposed at the time of arrest. The people are not prosecuted prior to punishment. There is not opportunity for defense prior to punishment.

The men can defend themselves. It’s rather hard considering their location at the time but they can defend themselves. Oddly, none of them ever do. All they have to do is say “I didn’t do it”. What’s NBC going to do then?
