Frankly, I think Rove was exactly the right guy at the right time, but that time is gone. He did great work in 2000 and 2004, but by 2006, his bag of tricks had been exhausted.

Rove is like Mariano Rivera, the great NY Yankees relief pitcher. Mariano is devastatingly effective in the regular season, when opposing batters see him once or twice, and then do not see him again for a while. But over a seven-game series, the opposing batters figure out his stuff, and he is winds up being just ordinary toward the end.

The Donks have figured out Karl Rove’s stuff. It is time for the manager to come out with the hook. But, like the like the Yankees, the Republicans have been relying on their Magician for so long, they don’t have any other decent closers on the bench.

"Rove is like Mariano Rivera, the great NY Yankees relief pitcher . . . "

Great example . . . *BUMP*!

Most players say Mo's late breaking fastball is the greatest pitch in the game. By the way, ever eaten at 'Mo's Steak House?' You sound like a real Yankees fan.
