It is interesting that some hold to the literal interpretation of the Creation in spite of the evidence God has provided to the contrary. After all, how long is a day before the earth and sun were created anyway?

The way I see it, whoever penned the Book of Genesis 5000 years ago had to have a reason for picking the order in which things were created. Why did the author write down that the light was created first and then humans were created last? Why wouldn't the author have picked a different order?

I think it is an interesting coincidence that the order in which things were created in Genesis matches the order in which they appeared as determined scientifically, even if the day intervals specified are not accurate.
