Since you dont have a candidate in the race, by sitting on the sidelines, you are in practice a Hillary supporter.
I wasn't aware that Hillary was running for the GOP nomination.
Anyways, like I said, I have my preferences, which would be Fred Thompson or Newt Gingrich... followed by Duncan Hunter.
Sure in a perfect world Hunter would get the nomination.
I had hoped that Hunter would place high in the Straw Poll and said so in another thread the day before the voting began.
But the difference is I can see the handwriting on the wall, and I can accept reality.
I know Hunter is finished, so I look to the future, instead of fighting against reality.
I will not get so dead set on any one candidate like the Hunterites have as to spoil myself for anyone else.
My suggestion is for all the Hunter hold-outs to stop trashing the guys who are still left, even if you're not quite ready to give up on Duncan, because one of them is going to be the nominee, and it's no accident that each candidates chances for winning the nomination is proportional to how much trash the Hunterites talk about them.
Seeing that sort of behavior is precisely why I take the tone that I do.
Seeing it on rampant display here makes me like this place a whole lot less, and lose faith and respect for many of the very people who the GOP is supposed to be able to count on for victory against the Democrats.
Whomever the nominee is, I will be supporting him in the general election over Hillary Clinton, and I will not sabotage him like the Hunterites are doing in the meantime.
I will compare and contrast the candidates, and I don’t require your approval. One “straw poll” in Iowa isn’t the end-all be-all in the race, ISSUES are.
Go back to the sidelines so you can watch and maybe you might learn something.
