This is still developing apparently, but Ed Morrissey of Captain's Quarters is all over what appears to be a hare-brained smear of presumptive GOP presidential candidate and former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson. Here's an excerpt:
It doesn't take long for provocateurs to crawl out of the woodwork to attack candidates, especially in stealth attacks. With Fred Thompson, they've apparently started before he officially enters the race -- and in one case, race is the operative word. Apparently hoping to confuse web surfers looking for Fred's website at www.imwithfred.com, a new site has appeared at www.imwithfred2008.com -- only this site welcomes people to the Ku Klux Klan, "Bringing a Message of Hope and Deliverance to White Christian America!" It includes links to a variety of disgusting racist sites.
Who would post something like this as a smear on Fred Thompson? Someone a little too stupid to cover his tracks, possibly? A DNS search gives us an answer. The domain name, registered through GoDaddy (no great shock there), belongs to:
Henry Reynolds 500 California Ave. #5 Santa Monica, California 90403 United States
The phone number listed on the domain record, which I won't post here, goes to an answering machine for the "law offices of Henry Reynolds". I left a message asking for comment on this website, and then decided to take a look through OpenSecrets and the FEC to see if Mr. Reynolds has a history of supporting Fred Thompson, or even the KKK. Actually, it turns out that a Mr. Henry Reynolds in the same zip code working as an attorney has a small record of political donations -- but in another direction:
4/6/2005 - $500, MoveOn.org
9/22/2004 - $500, DNC Services
4/5/2004 - $250, John Kerry
FEC receipts for these donations can be found here, here, and here. They have the same address as the domain registration.
End excerpt.
Ace and Allah also have coverage.

These Kos-type tactics are nothing new, but I admit surprise that a lawyer would put up such a thing.
I’m not. At least not a lib lawyer...
ImWithFred2008.com now takes you to the Wikipedia entry for Fredric Jameson.
Fun to watch the cockroaches when the lights are turned on.
Shows how much Thompson is feared by the left... they know that with a little effort, this guy can win it all.
Are you really surprised a lawyer would be a dishonest scum bag??Especially a liberal Democrat lawyer!
Not me.
L
One might think the Lib Lawyer would have covered his tracks better, but then he is a Liberal and Libs think everybody other than themselves and their clique in this World is stupid. After all THEY are the “Intellectuals”, and THEY are the “Progressives” so THEY say.
If only all the nation's enemies were this dang dumb.
I’m shocked!..... not...........they fear the Fred!
Of course not. Just surprised that he would do something guaranteed to bring attention to his penchant for being a complete jerk. A lawyer is expected to be above this kind of juvenile stuff.
His page on FindLaw shows he practices in "Government Agencies & Programs."
Would anybody in California like to file a complaint against Mr. Reynolds? California Code, Article 6 says:
§6106. Moral Turpitude, Dishonesty or Corruption Irrespective of Criminal ConvictionNot being in California, I have no idea if I have standing to bring such a complaint. Please, are any Californians here willing to copy all the evidence and send in a complaint using the above-linked form? You could do the country a favor and get this guy disbarred or suspended for his blatant libel for political reasons and furthering the cause of white supremacists. The commission of any act involving moral turpitude, dishonesty or corruption, whether the act is committed in the course of his relations as an attorney or otherwise, and whether the act is a felony or misdemeanor or not, constitutes a cause for disbarment or suspension.
Henry, you never had a chance against the pajamahedin.
You don’t have to live in a state to file a complaint about a lawyer who practices there. I have filed complaints about lawyers who practice in states other than my own and been taken perfectly seriously nonetheless.
