I am a reformed liberal; some of us are like reformed smokers, you know, we have embraced conservatism late in life and are whole hearted about it. I understand what GeorgefromgGeorgia was saying about Rudy. He was a good mayor for NY. He did clean up times square and was tough on crime, and that’s what was needed. He was a bad husband who behaved in a classless manner. I do not want him for President, I want a hard-core, committed conservative who will be led by conservative values and principles. But Rudy is not evil. I like him, but he is not right for President of the US. And no, I do not like liberalism, in fact I despise it, so it IS possible to separate the two.

Those who turn away from liberalism and join the conservative cause deserve praise.

However, just as there is no way of separating conservatives from conservatism, there is no way of separating liberals from liberalism. That is politics 101.

Anyone who supports killing the unborn and calls it a womans Constitutional right, is pure evil. There is nothing in the Constitution that mentions such a right. The Declaration of Independence does talk about a right to "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness". The right to life is a basic and fundamental concept found in God and Nature.

President Reagan said it best:

"Our nation-wide policy of abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy was neither voted for by our people, nor enacted by our legislators--not a single state had such unrestricted abortion before the Supreme Court decreed it to be national policy in 1973. [It was] an act of raw judicial power"...

"Make no mistake, abortion-on-demand is not a right granted by the Constitution. Nowhere do the plain words of the Constitution even hint at a "right" so sweeping as to permit abortion up to the time the child is ready to be born."

"We cannot diminish the value of one category of human life--the unborn--without diminishing the value of all human life."

"Abraham Lincoln recognized that we could not survive as a free land when some men could decide that others were not fit to be free and should therefore be slaves. Likewise, we cannot survive as a free nation when some men decide that others are not fit to live and should be abandoned to abortion or infanticide. My Administration is dedicated to the preservation of America as a free land, and there is no cause more important for preserving that freedom than affirming the transcendent right to life of all human beings, the right without which no other rights have any meaning."
