Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson is turning up the rhetoric in a fight with Lansing over a proposal to reclassify 200 felonies as misdemeanors. If it happens, he says, "everybody should go out and buy a gun. I recommend an Uzi."

K10/22-T is beautiful. Thanks everybody.
Bass Pro? there is not one within 100 miles of me.
A .22 is NOT a very good man stopper. Tin Cans and squirrels, great, bad guy. not.
I was thinking of actually poking. :)Funny I always respected the Uzzi. Must be from the early Israeli movies. Are they on DVD?
Not sure what you're referring to by "early Israeli movies" ... I've seen Uzis in lots of USA Hollywierd flicks, though.
Your are right, easy to learn on. The 10/22 is a great firearm. Just don’t expect it to protect anyone. I have seen reports of bad guys hit 10 times with a .22 and it does not slow them down. 20 ga will kill with one shot any person on earth. I assumed the poster wanted a self defense firearm. The .22 is a recreational / small game firearm. As long as the buyer knows that, no problem. So we were both right. Have a good evening.
You could do a lot worse than a Remington 870 pump. It's a GOOD shotgun -- our hunting retriever club has standardized on it for hunt tests. If you'd rather have a semi-auto (and certainly you can get a second shot off quicker) I'd recommend a Rem 1140 or 1148.
I wouldn't get a 12 ga., I'd get a 20 (that's what I have) because of the lower recoil, in a home defense situation that's still plenty of lead.
Then get out there and learn to shoot it and familiarize yourself with its operation. You'll probably wind up getting involved in sport shooting and having tons of fun.
You want a stopper - a .22 is not a stopper. It's killed plenty of folks, but it won't stop them from doing you serious bodily harm before they expire, unless you get very lucky indeed.
Also, you AIM a .22 rifle, you POINT a shotgun. Putting a lot of lead through a .22 rifle is good general firearms practice, but it will not teach you how to handle a shotgun.
How is a sincere criminal, trying hard, going to get ahead in his profession if his victim fails to cooperate?
Almost all crime depends on the cooperation of the victim. If the victim refuses his assigned role, the criminal is placed at a disadvantage, one so severe that it usually takes an understanding and compassionate judge to set right.
LAZARUS LONG
Pump shotgun.
I didn't vote for her, but am stuck with her anyway.
Jenny is pulling out all the stops because the state will be $1.2 BILLION in the red in the next fiscal year and her idea of solving it is with big tax increases. She's reneging on agreements made on LAST year's budget and using every threat in the liberal playbook.
Congratulations, Michigan.
1 Compound Bow
1 Khukri
Two handed longsword
2 Machetes
1 Gladius
The spear I mentioned
I know it is not much, I am working on getting some more though...
We didn’t vote for her either. A governor with dual citizenship is bizarre. All she has accomplished is blaming everything on Engler.
Image wouldn’t post, so here’s an interesting link with a picture. Enjoy possible captions.
Same here.
Dick DeVos tried to warn people about her. Maybe next time they’ll listen.
Please get some training from a bona fide expert. I have been shooting for way over 50 years and still learn something every time I sit in on a class.
