The Deming Headlight reports today that illegal immigration through the Deming corridor is down sixty to sevent percent. The Border Patrol here bases that claim on their assertion that "apprehensions" are down that much in what it says "used to be the second-highest traveled in the nation."

Either they found an easier route or Mexico is just flat running out of Mexicans.

Yes, but they’re making up for the lack of Mexicans in Middle-Eastern immigrants of a religious nature.

...that claim on their assertion that "apprehensions" are down...

Could it be that apprehensions are down because, border agents are afraid to do their job, the work of the president's "good friend" Johnny Sutton, or that illegals are simply better at avoiding being apprehended or that they have found better places to cross or maybe its simply been too hot lately?

They can’t send any more Mexicans, because there would be no one to pick up the remittances from the Western Union office.

Could it be that with the looming chance of amnesty that the illegals here are no returning to visit family in Mexico anymore?

I think this will be a trend. Employers are now pretty much on notice that their employment practices are being looked at a little more closely, at least the smart ones are.

This is a tangible result of the recent uproar.

Without U.S. employers to employ them, it’s pointless for illegals to cross the border.
