What a great legal system we have. Get sentenced to 10 years for two rapes, serve 5% of it and get paroled.

Serving a third of the prison portion of the sentence was the old standard; I can’t understand why anyone is expressing surprise or shock.

In March, a judge ordered a 10-year prison sentence with all but 18 months suspended.

What a deterrent!

Where did you see two rapes? 10 years is too low for one rape in my opinion let alone two.

I'll be furiously flamed for this...but here it goes:

The guy confessed. It appears as if he would have gotten away with it completely had he not confessed. He apologized to the victim as part of his membership in AA.The woman called the cops and I have no problem with that.

Bottom line...he did it.He admitted it.He attempted to make amends for it.It appears as if he's developed a conscience since his crime. He served time.Perhaps not enough but it was his *conscience* that was responsible for his having served a single day in jail.

I strongly suspect that this guy has committed his last serious crime.

Go ahead...flame away.
