Would your question be the same if she were a neo-Nazi living in a treehouse that was covered in swastikas? I would bet not. The idea of the hippie being a harmless eccentric is complete bunk. We all know that hippies, as much as they may claim to treasure love, togetherness, and tolerance, are the most virulent and violent people when it comes to political ideology. She and others like her would vote in officials that would have Christians and other assorted conservatives crucified in a heartbeat if they could, and they would feel completely justified in doing so because conservatives are "mean-spirited".

If you read this thread very carefully, you will realize one of two things. Either some conservatives are extremely 'mean-spirited', or many here are not really conservatives. Either way, this has been a sad display here at FR.
