Of all the interesting little fish swimming beneath the currents of the major candidates in this presidential campaign season, none is making waves as surprising as those kicked up by Rep. Ron Paul.
The Texas Republican, who embraces a libertarian point of view, has been riding an unimpressive 2 percent in the polls, but if the presidential election were held in cyberspace, Paul would probably win hands down.
Paul's supporters flood online polls, such as the unscientific survey ABC News invited viewers to join after the Republican debate last Sunday. Yet, you could barely find the Texas doctor in the network's after-debate coverage, despite the vigorous applause he ignited with his call for an immediate withdrawal from Iraq.

That's because it's very easy for a small handful of people to make a lot of noise on the net. The net allows small groups of people to present themselves as disproportionately by the relative amount of noise they can generate.
Disproportionately larger, that is.
The two biggest liabilities for Ron Paul are his idiotic supporters and his surrender policy toward the jihad.Whenever a Ron Paul thread opens up, all you have to do is wait for a dozen or so posts and then start scrolling down. Invariably you find one that sums up Ron Paul perfectly. In this thread, pacelvi gets the prize.

Clarence the cross-eyed Page sounds like a big Ron Paul fan (of course, that all changes by next June.)

I hope you're not suggesting that's a Ron Paul idea.
And I have news for you, while many of Paul's supporters consider themselves the true storehouse of political knowledge, both parties would immediately amass voting computor banks.
I think he has a radio show, and possibly TV, but not sure about that. He also produces films about conspiracies. I've actually showed one of his films at our public library.
All this shows is how a small very organized group of brainwashed supporters can make themselves look like a much larger group. Paul has figured out how to play the system.

It is a video montage with all the "front runners" talking about Ronald Reagan, followed by some clips with Reagan quotes about Ron Paul.
“It’s the simpletons that just can’t get passed (sic) the knee jerk reactions the status quo have been pounded into their heads over the years.” Gee, I’m such a simpleton I can barely get “passed” your post. Maybe, if you were John David Booty, you would pass to me. :-) All kidding aside, that sounds like an argument the DUers make as to why talk radio is so popular with conservatives. We’re just too dumb to figger out them thar new-fangled puters. Paul is popular on the net because he has hired a spammer and his popularity is about as relevant as a “freeped” poll.

That’s my point, if most people had to vote online (and they were somehow able to keep it fair), he would end up at 2%. That’s why I called the internet polls cheesy, albeit I could have been more clear.
Brainwashed? I’m 53 years old and retired. My daughter is in her second year at the University of Texas law school and my son starts his Freshman year in a couple weeks at UT. I want my Republican party to return to its roots before it was corrupted by Bush Rove and yes, NeoCons. Taft, Goldwater, and Reagan.
