Below is what I posted on another thread.....getting tired of typing. I am not a groupie of Bonds or anyone else, I just appreciate baseball, and talent. I have no interest in flipping off the man (to what man do you refer??), and I’ve been going for almost 60 years now, and will continue to go for as long as I can. Thanks for the suggestion. ;>)
Hey, is that all you’ve got? I’ve hear it all, and stand by what I say. He NEVER flunked a drug test. There have not even been allegations about “shooting up”. The accusations with him are the “clear” and other enhancement creams. No one claims he defintely didn’t use anything, but that anything he may have used was not illegal at the time. Hence the clean testing.
I may not be a gym rat, but have seen plenty in my day. Your 99lb wimp to hulk reference is ridiculous. the change has been over time, and has something to do with the aging process combined with an intensive work out regime (which a gym rat should appreciate). How many people do you know who have the same physique they had as a 20 year old when they are 43? Wouldn’t you expect to see changes over 23 years, especially with 4 hour a day exercise work outs with personal trainers?
His ass may be larger (who’s isn’t) but I don’t accept that as Proof that he is a deranged steroid abuser. Do I think he used steroid based enhancers, could be. But unlike the 300 lb press you mention, maintaining the ability to not only compete, but excel in baseball takes more than strength. Even with possible enhancement, for a 43 year old to not only be hitting homers, but fielding, hitting doubles and singles as well as homers and still stealing bases takes appreciable talent as well. It’s easy to take potshots, but Bond’s has always been the real deal, not a homerun hitting freak. Steroids may enhance some things, but can’t replace talent. Even Hank Aaron hit his last 20 or so homes as a DH, not as a positions player. Should that diminish his accomplishment?
Thats just plain ignorant and incorrect . His trainer rots in jail because he's the one that drove the needle into Bonds's ass week after week, and he wont talk to the Feds. Bonds's grand jury testimony, which was sealed and leaked, has him admitting drug use, but saying he didnt know that it was steroids.
Oh, and its not "talent" that youre appreciating, its talent plus drugs.... Whatever, thank goodness your pollyanna view of him is a minority opinion. Finally!
Your post is another perfect example of the Bonds Groupie that will go on and on about how you can’t “prove” that Bonds did it, but you never say that you don’t believe he did it. Because if you were to say that, even the Bonds defenders would think you were a fool. EVERYONE believes Bonds knowingly used steroids...lots of ‘em.
